- Genuine intention to study and leave after course completion
Financial Requirements
You must demonstrate sufficient funds:
- NZD $20,000 per year for living expenses (or NZD $17,000 with prepaid accommodation)
- Course fees paid or funding source documented
- Additional funds for dependents if applicable
Work Rights
Students can work up to 20 hours per week during academic year and full-time during scheduled breaks. PhD and Masters by research students can work full-time throughout their studies.
Post-Study Work Visa
Graduates may apply for a Post-Study Work Visa for up to 3 years depending on qualification level. This visa allows work for any employer and can lead to residence through the Skilled Migrant Category.
